Welcome to Arty Party ATX!

First, let me introduce myself!

Hi, I’m Elyssa Ketchersid, the founder and creator of Arty Party ATX. I am a lifelong artist and a creator of things. Over the years, I have worked in fine jewelry and in the animation industry, illustrated children’s books, sold sculptures at artists markets, and taught everything from wax carving and sewing to stop motion and digital art. I have had my hands in many pots and have not known what to do with all this seemingly random knowledge and set of skills. Until I decided to start Arty Party.

Arty Party ATX grew out of a desire to get creative energy out and to share that process with others. It is about slowing down, stepping away from automation, and spending time together making things. The focus is less on the final product and more on the act of creating, the community it builds, and the simple joy of sharing a night of art with others.

The world is stressful and grind culture is exhausting. There should be more places to be silly, make cute things, and create with your hands.
